Today is the Feast of St. Nicholas.
It is also the Feast of St. Aemilianus, a physician, confessor, and martyr. He was put to death in under the Vandal King Huneric in a gruesome manner in 484 for having resisted the Arian heresy which was still popular at the time in Africa.
St. Nicholas was an earlier fierce opponent of the Arian heresy, at First Nicaea in 325.
St. Aemilianus, and St. Nicholas, pray for us!
